Throughout 2010, FIMA consolidated its position as a supplier to the fishing industry by presenting 02 innovative designs for dryers:
- FRT 8000 tube dryer
- FSD 40 and FSD 60 disc dryers
The year also saw fabricating and installing its dryers in several fish processing plants along the Peruvian coast, including: CFG, Pesquera Centinela, Pesquera Caral, Pesquera del Pacifico Centro, and Hayduk. FIMA is currently fabricating equipment for Copeinca and TASA.
FIMA offers its clients a complete service encompassing need analysis, (for appropriate equipment size selection), costing, fabrication, transportation, assembly, and implementation.
COLUMN WELDING FOR OXYGEN PLANT IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
FIMA successfully completed the welding of two columns of the Oxygen Plant, pertaining to the Pueblo Viejo Project (PVDC) in the Dominican Republic. The work was carried out at the request of COSAPI S.A.
FIMA is the only Peruvian company to be certified by the National Board and possess the “R" seal to carry out repair jobs in pressure valves that were initially fabricated in accordance with the ASME Code and stamped with the "U" or "S" seal.
To this end, FIMA devised a plan of action entailing considerable operational, logistical, and administrative coordination. The team sent to the Dominican Republic was made up of 01 ASME authorized inspector, 01 resident engineer, 01 QA/QC engineer, 01 mechanical supervisor, 12 qualified operators, and 01 topographer.
Upon completion, verification, and validation of the testing required by the specification, the name plates on each column were stamped with the “R” seal.
PLATEWORKS FABRICATION
FIMA has successfully fabricated 13 plateworks, to be installed in the Pueblo Viejo Project of the Barrick mining company in the Dominican Republic, a world class mine reserve and one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits.
The plateworks were fabricated with engineering developed by the Canadian company Fluor, and around 200 tonnes of carbon steel, with rubber used as the inner coating.
TUBE DRYER FRT-8000
Fima has finalized succesfully the fabrication of a new Tube Dryer FRT 8000 with chamber , this equipment will be installed in the Fishing Plant of CFG Investment in Chimbote. Fima truly appreciate CFG Investment for the trust on the fabrication of this equipment.
PHOSPHATE DRYER FOR BAYOVAR PROJECT OF NORTHERN PERU
FIMA has been manufacturing an array of equipment to bolster the newly developing phosphate extraction project in the Bayobar mine of northern Peru.
In the last few months manufacturing efforts have centered on 2 - 4.50m x 30m long dryers, developed through an engineering collaboration with the renowned transnational Gea-Barr Rosin, following the strictest standards of quality and technical specifications.
For dryers of such large diameter and length to be successfully manufactured, they were first fully assembled at the factory and subsequently disassembled for transport to the plant site
The project was developed over 10 months.
MANUFACTURE OF DIVERTER DAMPER
FIMA has successfully completed the manufacture and delivery of one 5.8m x 5.8m x 11m diverter damper for use in the expansion project of the Chilca plant south of Lima, belonging to the electricity generation company Kallpa Generations S.A.
The detail engineering was developed by German company Camfill Farr Power Systems, featuring dismountable sections for ease of transportation.
The Diverter Damper was manufactured over 7 months.
AMEC-VTM-CAJAMARQUILLA
FIMA is actively participating in the extension and modernization project of Votarantim Metais’s Cajamarquilla refinery, which is based on two stages: 160K (now concluded) and 320K (ongoing).
Among other thing, we have supplied:
- ASME pressure vessels
- Holding tanks
- Ducts, chutes and nozzles
- Spools
- Spiral classifiers, screw conveyors and conveyer systems
- Roasters
- Induction furnaces
In all cases the manufacturing has been carried out integrally in our plant in collaboration with Amec Engineering, Outotec, Ajax Tocco and others, employing stainless steel (904L, 316L, 304L) and carbon steel as principal materials.
In this way FIMA continues to bolster its status as a key supplier to the metallurgical industry in Peru.
ASME TANKS
FIMA is one of the few companies in Peru backed by ASME certification for the manufacture of pressure vessels (‘U’ stamp ), boilers (‘S’ stamp S) and the repair of pressure vessels (‘R’stamp).
On account of this crucial safety advantage, FIMA has been chosen to manufacture more than fifty pressure vessels for the oil and gas sectors over the last two years.
The dimensions of the vessels manufactured range between 0.50m diameter x 1m length and 3.50m diameter 26m length.

FIMA has renewed its focus on the manufacture of industrial grinding mills under the Denver patent, with 7 units completed in 2008 for clients in Peru and abroad:
